Hello, I’m

Dr. Rudo Shoko, DNP

Encouraged by Nicholas and Cecilia, as an immigrant moving to America, I desired to make a difference and studied nursing and medical healthcare. I obtained a doctorate degree at the University of Texas at Arlington and have practiced as a Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In this journey, I have witnessed firsthand the struggles of individuals facing homelessness due to mental health challenges.

Recognizing the Patterns

I served the indigent population, including outpatient and inpatient individuals going in and out of psychiatric hospitals, who were struggling with severe mental illness, substance abuse, those who had been through correctional institutions, and children in the foster system facing challenges when no one wanted them after a certain age. I also began noticing the recurring patterns of those in domestic violence situations, and my mission expanded to educating women on trauma related to domestic violence issues. Many women stay in toxic situations for fear of becoming homeless while caring for their children. These encounters fueled my commitment to addressing the growing homelessness crisis in America with a holistic guided approach that addresses physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.

Everyone Deserves a Better Future

My ‘why’ is deeply rooted in the belief that, through the power of love, we can bring about lasting change in the lives of those who feel abandoned and forgotten.

Our late father, Nicholas Shoko set a genuine example of compassion that planted a seed in us to help and empower others.
